Blue duck (18/35)

An intimate portrait of a resting blue duck. Mostly slate grey in colour, at such close range the attractive chestnut breast and colourful greenish tinge to the shoulders can be admired. This is a completely wild and healthy duck, which on this occasion (with very careful work by the photographer) showed little of the furtive nature more typical of the species.
