The June issue of New Zealand Gardener magazine is on the shelves and the cover shot is one of my popular tui photos. Tui are always a welcome garden visitor for their lovely and variable song, and stunning spring blossom makes kowhai one of our most popular native garden plants.
In addition to being a wildlife photographer I have a fair bit of bird watcher in me. I have met many birders over the years, and have received a lot of valuable information and help from them. I am proud to announce that I have just launched a new website: BirdingNZ.net. At the moment there is a discussion forum in its infancy, but I hope the site will grow to enable New Zealand birders and international visitors to readily find and share information about New Zealand’s wild birds. By building and sponsoring this new site I hope to give something back to the people and birds whose company I have enjoyed.
Please, check out www.birdingnz.net, join in, spread the word, and let me know what you think.
